Furniture Restyled By Kim Celebrates every second chance I help create. Here I will give stories about the furniture I restyle, what the process looked like.

Cranberry Console Table with floral paintings and ornamental plants on top and under

I started by cleaning the piece with TSP and rinsing that clean off. I gave it a good scuff sand and cleaned it off using a damp rag. Then I primed it using a bonding primer from Valspar. I started making some molds for the front and the feet using casting resin and Redesign with Prima molds – Curio Trinkets and Grandeur Keyholes and attached them using Titebond Quick and Thick glue. I painted this using a two-color blend. Crabapple and a custom mix 50/50 mix of Sweet Currant and Blackstrap and sanded between coats. I added some Redesign with Prima Transfers in Lush Floral ll. I topcoated with General Finishes Flat Out Flat. Then I added some silver gilding wax from Redesign with Prima.

I made some molds for the front top and the front bottom of this piece using casting resin and molds from Redesign with Prima in Sicilian Plates and Tulumn Keyholes and applied them with Titebond Quick and Thick. I painted the entire piece in a blush color called Damask Dunes. I applied an extra-large transfer from Hokus Pokus called Marvelous Gardens on the front and Flower Collector from Redesign with Prima on the top of the piece. I topcoated the entire piece using General Finishes High Performance in Flat. Then I added a little shine using Eternal gilding wax from Redesign with Prima.

I started by cleaning the piece with TSP and rinsing that clean off. I gave it a good scuff sand and cleaned it off using a damp rag. I made some molds for the front using casting resin and Oceanic Flourish mold from Redesign with Prima and I attached it using Titebond Quick and Thick. I painted the bottom half in a gray color called Gray Suit. I topcoated that using General Finishes Flat Out Flat. I added some white wax from Dixie Belle in all the details. For the top of the tables I put the base coat of beige called Au Lait Ole. I then put a coat of Polycrylic in Matte on to seal it. Then I made a whitewash using a 50/50 mix of Cream In My Coffee and water. I brushed it on and using a t-shirt rag, wiped it back. I did 3 or 4 coats of this. Once I was happy with it, I added some transfers from Redesign with Prima in Watercolor Bloom. Then I did 3 more coats of Polycrylic in Matte.

I started by cleaning the piece with TSP and rinsing that clean off. I gave it a good scuff sand and cleaned it off using a damp rag. Then I primed it using Dixie Belle Boss in Gray. I striped the top of the buffet using Citristrip. I put a nice thick coat of it on and then put plastic wrap overtop so that it would not dry out. Then I let it set overnight to do its magic. In the morning, I scraped off all the junk and then cleaned it with Mineral Spirits. Once that was dry, I sanded. I stained it with General Finished Java gel stain, then did 4-5 coats of General Finishes High Performance in Flat. I painted the body of the piece with a beautiful blue called Smokey Pitch and blended Woodlawn Silver Brook into the centers of the doors and drawers and painted some stripes on others. I place some Redesign with Prima transfers on In Wonderous Floral ll on the door fronts. Then I used Botanical Encyclopedia Décor Stamps from Redesign with Prima on the drawers running down in the center. I added a beautiful stencil called French Trellis from Redesign with Prima on the sides of the piece. I topcoated it a with General Finishes High Performance in Flat. I added some coordinating drawer liners and some new hardware; and it’s finished.

I started by cleaning the piece with TSP and rinsing that clean off. I gave it a good scuff sand and cleaned it off using a damp rag. Then I primed it using a bonding primer from Valspar. I painted this with a two-color blend of Starry Woods and Hanging Vine and sanded between coats. I used some IOD transfers called Painterly Florals in the corners to frame everything out. In the center, I used a beautiful stencil that just means so much to me - Bless the food before us, the family beside us, and the love between us. It's like a warm hug. I topcoated everything with General Finishes High Performance Flat. Then I added some grunge gray wax in all the details. I put casters on it to raise it up to a more work surface height and to be able to move it where and when you need.
